The Washington Family on Johns Island Thanks the Volunteers Who Helped Them
The following is a copy of a letter of sincere appreciation from Leo and Maybellene Washington, an elderly couple residing at Solom Road, Johns Island. Volunteer workteams dedicated a great many hours and money to repairing their badly deteriorated home. Work included a new roof and ceilings, a new porch and repairs and painting of interior walls. The home was made safe, warm and livable for this very faith-filled couple.
Workteam volunteers assisting in the repairs on the Washington's home included the teams from Orleans United Methodist Church in Massachusetts and Barrington United Methodist Church from Rhode Island.

To the Staff and Volunteers of Rural Mission:
Words cannot begin to express the depth of gratitude we feel at this time. We are so very grateful for all the work and efforts taken to the repair of our home. It has been a true blessing far above what we anticipated. All the volunteers were friendly and did everything in their power to please. The entire team worked diligently to finish everything they started. Their generosity and your care and concern for us is a perfect indication of the power of prayer. We have had some bumps in the road, as all of us do, but it is always GOD's will, in GOD's time. Again, please accept our sincere thanks to you and anyone who did anything in regards to the repairs. If you can, please pass this along to the volunteers and if it is not too much trouble, please send us a list of the volunteers and their addresses. GOD bless all of you and continue your works of love.
With Heartfelt Thanks,
Leo Washington Maybellene Washington
