Mrs. Henrietta Mack and family move in on Christmas Eve Morning!

The Charleston Post and Courier has graciously featured weekly stories and updates on the Rural Mission's efforts under Homes for Christmas to complete two new homes for very needy families and have these families in their new homes by Christmas. Mrs. Mack and her family excitedly and emotionally moved into their warm and safe new home on Wadmalaw Island on Christmas Eve. Mrs. and Mrs. Smiley will move into their home in early January, 2010.

Many volunteers, donors and friends of the Rural Mission made this joyous Christmas story possible. To all, we are so grateful. Special thanks go to all the volunteer workteams and contractors who helped to build this home. Thank you to all who donated furnishings and household items to make the home comfortable and inviting. Our very special thanks go to the three dear Rural Mission friends who made Homes for Christmas their personal act of faith and gift to our community and to these families ... Carol Etheridge of the Charleston Place Hotel, Mickey Bakst of Charleston Grill and Burrow Hill of Hill Construction Company.

Your gifts and donations can help us to complete and furnish the home for the Smiley family as well as help other very needy families who deserve a warm, dry and safe home this winter. Please donate through our donation link on this website to Network for Good. Please help us to give these families hope for the future and a new chance in life.

It was a joyous and beautiful Christmas Eve Day morning as the keys and a Bible were presented to Mrs. Mack. Her old trailer is in the background.

Blessings to all for the new year!
